Wireless network profiles

I have the same problem with a Toshiba Satellite A10; the card is
PRISMII and uses the orinoco_cs driver. I can set it up no problem at
home with our WEP key(it doesn't even ask for ESSID) and it is
immediately connected, I am even able to download and install updates.
The problem is that its my girlfriends laptop and she needs it at
school where there is a different ESSID and WEP key. I brought it to
the school and did manage to get it to connect*ONCE* ; rebooted it and
it could no longer find the access point! After that I couldn't get it
to connect again, plus when I got home I was unable to get it to
connect there!
I was told by friends that if /etc/network/interfaces were edited to
include ESSID and WEP of both, then Ubuntu should(theoretically) start
whichever is the correct connection based on where I am. I tried to set
up a new Profile and save that profile, yet all it seemed to do was
change the settings on the current connection.
If anyone knows a good way of setting this up then please let us know
:D
