Problem with sound on nForce2 mb

Hi all,

I've install Ubuntu on my Abit NF7-Sv2.0 mobo with nForce2 chipset, but  
the sound does not work even though sound drivers are loaded. What is the  
best way to resolve this issue as it seems (from the mailing lists  
archives) that I am the only person with this problem. The sound did work  
under my previous install of Fedora.

Should I just install the ALSA drivers with synaptic?
