No. Ssupend/Resume was fine with DRI using x.org. I'll give it a try 
without DRI (alas), and also do a non-instrusive X.org install and see 
if that helps. I suppose I should add that I'm running a custom 
kernel.org 2.6.9 kernel as I wanted serial_cs so I can use a PCMCIA modem.
