2 questions: wxpython and install log

I just had a very smooth install of ubuntu so thanks to all involved.

Two questions:

1) A few errors (that don't seem to be affecting anything) did appear
on the screen during installation -- is a log file written anywhere
that I can review?

2) I need to install wxpython and do not see it in the ubuntu
repositories or in the "universe."  Ubuntu has such great python
support that I am surprised wxpython isn't there and would appreciate
any advice concerning installing it.
