doesn't work here either ( athonXP,nForce2)

I tried building from the source mplayer-custom package which works
fine, EXCEPT it won't build with gui support, even though it does
install the gmplayer symlink.

even using DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="--enable-gui" did not work.

In order to get it to build the gui, I had to hack the debian/rules
file, adding "--enable-gui" into some places where it obviously
doesn't belong.

here's my build command with ./configure line that is generated:
