hi, i followed the update instructions today, my base- and
desktop-packages have been up to date, but it did install the new
linux-686 kernel.
sorry to say that it had no effect, neither on the usb issue nor on the
acpi poweroff problem.
Just one observation on the usb topic:
When my memory stick is plugged in at powerup, a tiny led on the stick
indicates some action. this led is on till the hotplug system is
activated during boot. After the two fatal modprobe messages concerning
modules shpchp and pciehp (where i learned in the meanwhile that's just
cosmetics...) the led is off and won't be on again during the session.
thx for any help so far...
gerald.
PS: just for the case that someone is able to take a closer look i
attached some info files
