Firefox crashes on popups

I am having a problem where firefox dies whenever I click on a link
that is supposed to spawn a new window.  This happens whether or not I
have popup blocking enabled in firefox.  Has anyone else experienced
this problem?  This has happened to me on two different machines
running ubuntu and doesn't seem to happen on other distros I'm
running.  This is about the only problem I've had with ubuntu so far.
(Not bad for a new distro with so many great features out of the box!
Great work!!!)  Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this?
