Really! :-)
The Ubuntu Live CD contains Windows versions of some open source
applications which are included in Ubuntu. If you insert the CD into a
system which is running Windows, you will be presented with a dialog which
will allow you to install:
* Abiword (word processor)
* Audacity (audio editor)
* Firefox (web browser)
* Gimp (image processor)
* OpenOffice.org (office suite)
* PDFCreator (create PDF files from any Windows application)
* Thunderbird (email)
These are ideal tools for introducing Windows users to open source in a
concrete and practical way:
* They are complete, useful applications that can be installed and used
immediately
* They are available free of charge
* They can be freely copied and shared with anyone
Just as with the normal Ubuntu release, we need your help to test it on a
variety of systems and ensure that it works well. Please download the live
CD image and try it out on a nearby Windows system:

This is a great item to give to your friends who haven't yet tried Ubuntu.
They can try out some of the applications without even rebooting their
computer. If they like what they see, they can try out a "live" Ubuntu
system by booting from the same CD, without worrying about repartitioning or
reinstalling. Remember, a copy of the live CD is included in every Ubuntu
CD order submitted: http://shipit.ubuntulinux.org/
