By this do you mean that you want to log in remotely and issue the
upgrade? (ie. you currenty use vnc etc. and you want to access teh
terminal)  If so then you should telnet into your linux machine or use
and ssh shell. Both requre the correct servers running on your ubunto
machine though and iff you havent started them yourself then they wont
be running by default.
