Generally it's easier to:

  $ ssh -C user at phatbox

or for something more graphically:

  $ ssh -X -C user at phatbox xeyes &

For even better remote-working, NX brings to the scene cacheing, image
compression, clever output-buffer latency improvements and screen-like
detachability.
