kerberos on Ubuntu?

I'm trying to find a kerberos solution for Ubuntu.  there are a bunch
of kerberos related packages available in synaptic but to be honest, i
dont know exactl what i need.

in windows ive been using a program called kclient (more info in
google link below).  what software do i need in Ubuntu?  I'm trying to
use software from my school (CMU) that requires kerberos
authentication.  so i need some kind of program that can check out,
manage, and destroy tickets i guess.
