Backup tool?

thanks for doing this. Right now mondo is off my machine, but I'm
still looking for a good backup solution for my new Ubuntu install to
copy my files into a set of cd-r/rw on a regular-basis. The problem
is that mondo more or less exactly fits my needs in an user-friendly
fashion, for the right price....

I always smile when I see a reference to Fortran done this way (as in
an old thing of the past). I have never really learned C (at a more
advanced level than your basic Hello World program), but working in
the scientific world (climate modelling), I have spent the last 10+
years coding in Fortran on a daily basis on source codes ranging for
tiny little codes on desktop workstations to large scale climate
models on supercomputers. Maybe it's not by choice, but that
language is still alive in some corners of this computing world.
