Using Brutus to connect to an Exchange 5.5 server?

Correct - evolution only talks to 2000 and 2003 not 5.5 which is not
supported and as MS have officially end lifed it (along with my certs in
it, thanks billg) it will never be supported.  

There are apparently reasons for this to do with MAPI and exchange 5.5's
older architecture but they are irrelevant.  Brutus is the only option i
i have seen and it seems to work ok bu i must seriously reccomend that
if your employer is convinced on staying with exchange they upgrade to
2003 in the short term - 5.5 support is rapidly becoming impossible to
get and no further development or patching is being done on the product.
