Back to Ubuntu; Loop-devices

Hello everyone,

after a long time of silence I'm back to Ubuntu.

I do have to admit that I still have to read some 1500+ messages to
catch up with the latest issues. 
Currently, I seem to have a minor problem and I hope somebody here can
give me a hint. I am trying to mount a CD-Image via loop using 

	'sudo mount -o loop CST04NC_jul04.1.iso /mnt'

but instead of the expected result I got

	'mount: could not find any device /dev/loop#'

How could I possibly create the missing devices?
