OT: recommend fast 2D card?

I doubt it.  All cards made within the last, say... 5 years are all
about the same.  For example, I can't tell a difference in 2D
performance between my PCI Matrox Millennium (that sucker is like 8
years old), PCI TNT2 Vanta, PCI ATI 7500, and AGP 8x GF4 5700 Ultra
video card.  It's all the same and they're all really fast.  2D takes no
effort for these cards.

Any differences would be configuration problems or loading and
manipulating the picture (like scaling and stuff).  That's CPU
limitations though, not the video card.

Describe what you think "slow" 2D performance is.  What makes it slow?
