apt-get dist-upgrade from woody

Taking my courage in both hands and thinking beautiful thoughts I am 
about to upgrade from woody to ubuntu.

(I have a gap between work, time now, sick of an outdated gnome...)

The final step seems to be missing.

After editing my /etc/apt/sources.list I should issue the following two 
commands:

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

Is this the correct path?
