Adding Fonts

I'm afraid that did not do it either!
In the end, I had to copy them to my /home/usrname/.fonts directory and 
then run fc-cache

I did find a how to for Gnome in general at 
http://linux.org.mt/article/ttfonts but, the tool ttmkfdir does not seem 
to exist on Ubuntu.

Have you installed fonts recently with the method you show above? Just 
wondering if any recent changes would make it not work on my Laptop.
