I burned my cd with Nero as well. The i386 disc (the preview release
from weeks ago) burned and installed just fine. The powerpc disc(s)
didn't. I got one working cd out of about a dozen, and the final
consensus is that my iMac didn't like the cd media I usually use (TDK
- for the record).
There are a couple things you could try:
1. burn at a slower speed (which you've already tried).
2. check the option to "close" the disc when it's finished burning
3. experiment with track-at-once versus disk-at-once
I don't remember exactly how I was configured when I burned my i386
disc, but I almost always slow down the speed a little and choose to
close the disc when finished. I *probably* left the default of
"track-at-once".
If all else fails, send me your address off-list and I'll mail you one. :-)
