Hi all,
I'm new to Ubuntu. From what I've seen so far it is a GREAT distro.
User-friendly, yet far better than some other "user-friendly" distros.
We're actually considering standardizing the Linux workstations were I
work (an undergrad institution in Upstate New York, USA) on Ubuntu. I
installed it yesterday on my workstation. Very nice...I've been able to
browser the network and retrieve files from other computers. I have a
question though.
I tried to access a shared printer on another machine (the other machine
is running Windows XP). After going through the setup I right clicked on
the printer and selected properties. Under status it says, "Ready:
Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...foomatic-rip
version $Revision: 3.43.2.5 $ running..."
Any thought on how to get printer support working?
