Ubuntu promotion at conferences and expos

With the Linux World Expo in Frankfurt, Germany in two weeks from now, I
wondered whether Canonical plans to actively promote Ubuntu with booths
at expos and how the community will be involved in this.

For the afore mentioned event it might be a little late (just a
little;-)), however after the final-release of warty, the promotion of
Ubuntu at important conferences and expos might be the next logical
step.
BTW, there have been discussions about the same topic on the Fedora
mailing lists recently.

Before the local users start planning actions, there should be a kind of
"Promotion-Guide" from Canonical. Maybe the mailing-list-admins should
even create an extra mailing-list called "ubuntu-promotion" to discuss
those topics without producing to much noise on ubuntu-users or
ubuntu-devel. There everyone can learn, where Canonical will be
officially and where "just" some members of the local community will do
some voluntary work.

I will start a new thread on the german mailing-list regarding events in
germany as soon as the first replies humble in. Maybe some of the german
users can even meet informally at the Linux World Expo in Frankfurt.

Best regards,
