a final plea

Posted the following several days ago ... unless I missed it, nobody 
responded:


Have been trying to install Ubuntu 4.1.  All seems fine until first boot 
when I discover I have a dead mouse ... cursor is there but no response. 
In the past have had the same problem with Fedora and Mandrake 
installations, but SUSE 9.1 ( also Knoppix )was OK.

Labtec optical 3-button wheel mouse on PS2 port
