x and gdm not happy

Hi All

finally a post not about the new theme :)

anyway, I've been having a fair bit of problems with X lately, has
crashed 3 times in the last hour, I havent been mess'n with any files,
below is the relevant content of my syslog and kernel log files - hope
someone can make some sense ot of it,
Any help would be greatly appreciated

seems to only crash when ppp is running? 

when i say crash, i mean it the screen goes black and then back tp the
gdm login screen, when i re-enter gnome all my apps and files etc. are
closed

am running:
 - ubuntu ppc - initial public release with a few small upgrades
 - G4 400
 - 17 CRT studio display
