I probably shouldn't open my mouth when I don't know what I'm talking
about, but I noticed this in /etc/rc(x).d/

K77ntp-simple -> ../init.d/ntp-simple

The first half of it is in red, and it's pointing to a file that
doesn't exist. The only reason I mention it is because I *think* "ntp"
has something to do with getting the time. If I'm nuts, just disregard
this message. :-)
