i have a ibm thinkpad 600x. i has not had the problem listed below
regarding the r40, it refuses to let me use the serial mouse (microsoft)
i've tried dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 but i dont know thw correct
combo of
items to tel dpkg to use. any ideas from anybody.
at wits end with this though ubuntu seems rock-solid so far.
need this functionality and can find it easier in plan9 and solaris x86
which
i do not consider to be the equal of ubuntu is ease of install for devices
they handle
mice configs a lot better unless someone has a fix thats makes a liar out of
me
(i'd like that very much cuz i really like ubuntu though i think i've broken
the isolation of `root`. will let all know more when i'm done.
mo' later - news at 11.

Subject: system freeze with IBM R40 laptop
I have a IBM R40 laptop(which is a celeron 2G,256RAM,20GBytes HDD machine)
About 2 weeks ago I installed ubuntu linux, and it works pretty good at
that time.(In fact,it's the most laptop friendly linux OS I ever seen)
But fews days a ago,the laptop start freeze it self after I use it "EXACTLY"
1
hour. I can't figure out why. And also can't find what application will
freeze
it in an hour. I really need help!
