Ubuntu Downgrade to Firefox 0.9.3

The strangest thing about this bug is that it only seems to happen on
ubuntu. I have the newest version of firefox on two other linux
distros and it works fine. It just seems like a odd fix to have to
revert back to an older version and patch all of the security fixes to
get a working firefox. I'm not trying to be critical here at all. I
know the ubuntu team is doing an amazing job because I can see the
working distro at this early stage and I love it. I simply don't
understand what series of events would cause us to choose reverting
firefox back a version or two when the newest version of firefox works
on so many other distros. What is it about the way ubuntu is set up
that causes the pop-up bug to show up on this distro? Again, I am not
trying to be critical here. I am just curious and looking for some
enlightenment on this issue.
Thanks,
Chris
