I'm well on my way to getting my VIA EPIA M10000 ubuntu installation
EPIA-fied.

So far, I have accomplished:

       1. putting the epia patch on the kernel
       2. installing XFree86 4.4.0 cvs
       3. patching xf440 with the via driver
       4. patching xf440 with the XvMC extension

Next is installing the special Xine plugin supporting XvMC (and Xine
too, of course).

I have scripts that I created to accomplish this. Let me know if you
are interested in them.

As an aside, I also have my wireless care working. The Dlink DWL-520
 >>REV E1<< card requires the hostap_pci driver (not the orinoco_pci
driver which the previous version of this card used). This module is
not available by default with ubuntu. So I added that to my kernel
patching and now I'm on the air! The 'ap' in 'hostap_pci' stands for
'Access Point'. This driver allows your PC to act as a access point.
Haven't done that yet, but that's totally cool.
