Ditto here. Do you think you could tell us where exactly in the
installation you're getting errors, and with what packages? Also let us know
what config you're using in VMWare...I'm using custom settings: "Other Linux
2.6.X Kernel," 256 MB RAM, Bridged Networking, and SCSI HDD (I forget
whether it's BusLogic or not). Have you tried both SCSI emulation modes?

I don't know how can I help you, but at work I'm running Ubuntu without any
trouble under VMWare 4.5/Windows XP.
