missing root email alias?

See, this is why I say buzilla hates me.  I tried several queries to
see if this was already a know problem.  Maybe I forgot Ubuntu installs
postfix as its default MTA, or maybe I typo'd it.  Whatever the cause,
I got nothing back from it.  As is IME usual, except for the times I
get hundreds of unrelated "matches" from the silly thing.

Bother, the *first* thing I tried was "email alias" (or "root alias". 
tried a couple variations).  It must not search the summary?!?  Pfui!

It's spinach.  :-(
