How to record MP3?

I've installed Grip and Lame with it's associated packages; Grip will
not recognize the tracks on the CD, it will however eject the CD. 

Sound Juicer works fine, but I prefer Grip for the ability to modify
track names. Can you provide anymore information to help me get this
going?
