DRI on S3 Twister chipset

I've been looking around for days trying to find some way to get accelerated 
graphics on my Savage vid card. I've tried to follow several sets of 
directions that are supposed to work but so far nothing works ( won't even 
get past the compile stage of the direction always ends in errors and 
warnings) Can anyone shed some light on this or give me a place to start?
