how to install acrobat reader ??

Go to www.adobe.com, get acrobat reader.  It is a file named
linux-509.tar.gz.

cd /tmp
tar xzvf /dirwherepackageis/linux-509.tar.gz
chmod a+x INSTALL
./INSTALL

basically, just answer the questions.  It will want to create a
directory called /usr/local/Acrobat5 to put the files in.

you will need to edit /etc/profile and add /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin to
your path.    You can also
copy /usr/local/Acrobat5/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so into your
browser's plugins directory if you want the plugin to function.  For
example, if your browser is firefox:

cp /usr/local/Acrobat5/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/
