Hi folks!

Concerning https://bugzilla.ubuntulinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2134, I
put up a (still) unofficial new gnome-vfs2 package which should
(finally) handle the unmounting of iPods correctly. It also plays
better with USB sticks, they are actually powered off now.

Since I don't have many different types of USB/FireWire devices, I
would like to have these packages tested by as many people as possible
before I ask for upload approval. Please install them, play around
with your USB, FireWire, and PCMCIA devices and tell about any
regression (or enhancements :-) ) you experience. Please followup on
the bug report, or on the list (or both).

Packages which contain this patch are on

  http://people.ubuntulinux.org/~pitti/utopia/ .

By now it contains i386 packages, powerpc packages will follow in a
few minutes. I don't have an amd64 around, so if anybody can compile
them, I'd be happy to put them there, too.

The debs are also apt'able with

  deb http://people.ubuntulinux.org/~pitti/utopia/ /

in your /etc/apt/sources.list. Add this line, and upgrade your system.

Should anything go wrong with this package, you can get the older
version with:

- remove the additional deb line from /etc/apt/sources.list again, run
apt-get update and cry out loudly

- sudo dpkg -P --force-depends libgnomevfs2-0 libgnomevfs2-common

- sudo apt-get install libgnomevfs2-0 libgnomevfs2-common

Thanks in advance for testing and comments!

Martin
