Totem error, resource busy or not available

Sorry if this has been covered, i had a quick look around but i
couldn't find a solution.

I get a Error dialog when i start totem, 

"An error occured
Resource busy or not available"

i click ok, then i try to open a movie file and then totem shows the
same error dialog and then quits.

all my packages are up to date, any ideas what could be the problem?
