At the risk of going way off topic, I'm afraid this is a subject
of debate. The reason I said this is a no win situation is that
more and more e-mail clients are using format=flowed. And yes it
has an RFC <http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3676.html>. With
electronic messaging become more prevalent on small devices such
as pda's and cell phones, a format has been necessary to
dynamically wrap quoted text thereby requiring no line breaks.

While you have no obligation to answer any e-mail you do not
wish to, I don't think it is completely accurate to say that
line breaks are "standard" when there is an RFC saying the
opposite <http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3676.html>.

With that said, I prefer line breaks as my e-mail client does
not acknowledge format = flowed. :-)
