inkscape installation errors

Greetings,

I'm trying to install Inkscape but am coming up with the following
error...

Setting up ttf-opensymbol (1.1.2-2ubuntu6) ...
Updating fontconfig cache...
Can't save cache in "/usr/share/fonts/type1"
Can't save cache in "/usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts"
dpkg: error processing ttf-opensymbol (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ttf-opensymbol
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Because I had been downloading updates, I thought it might be due to
some file changing and I rebooted, but the result was the same.
