There was some discussion about this in the thread, "does the team think."

I'm using cdlabelgen because it can be automated: I can (but haven't 
yet) write a short script to burn a CD and print a label.


fwiw I just gor a DVD burner. It's an LG GSA 4120B (cheap). Does +- 
media at up to 12x, dual-layer (media still too pricy) and DVD-RAM 
(ditto). And of course, CDs. The only problem I've had is it doesn't 
like my oldest slowest CD-RW disks.

Oh, finding one doesn't use cdrecord to burn DVDs was a surprise.
