Ubuntu live CD

I know Mepis Linux (http://www.mepis.org) was touting a feature when I
first heard about the distro where your home directory (and all of your
settings) were on a USB flash drive. Then, when you came to a new
computer you just put in the flash drive and the Mepis live CD and
presto -- you had your desktop with your settings. I've never seen it
in action though. I just read about it.
