Hi,

I tried to install Ubuntu 4.10 preview on my old laptop Toshiba
Satellite 1710cds
( Celeron III 600 MHz, 160M ram,  Network card Dlink DFE-690TXD )
There are the problems I got :

- Automatic config network fail. ( This works fine with Debian-installer )
At this step it's ok coz I can config the network later.

- While it was installing the base system I got the following error:
==========================================
The debootstrap program exited with an error (return value 2).
Check /var/log/messages or see virtual console 3 for the details
===========================================

It was at 0%.
I checked VT3 and this is what it says:

======================================
eval: 3: Syntax error: newline unexpected (expecting ")")
======================================

With the debian installer, this doesn't happen to me.

Sorry for my bad English.
Parinya
