In case you didn't know:
There is a package to transform JRE/JDK .bin files from Sun into debian
packages.
It works with all Sun JRE/JDK (even 1.5), and installs it in /usr/bin,
etc.
It was on http://z42.de/debian/ (package named j2se-package), and move
recently into Debian unstable main repository (new name is
java-package).
