any/all,

my stinkpad 600x is tenaciously refusing to work w/my serial mouse
and uses on the
	dreaded trackpoint...(ant-big fingers)

i've tried every suggestion i've rcvd on this list and
	it still doesn't work.

what small thing in the install could i have missed.

i tried xp and solarisx86 and plan9 to see if the mouse is kaput.

it worx under all these but not ubuntu...wouldnt be a big deal but i
REALLY like
this distro and think it would be ridiculous to change back to rh or
fc2 or plan9
	cause of flak mouse handling.

again any suggestions wold be appreciated.

	oops,

the mouse is a ms serial mouse and the laptop is a ibm thinkpad
600x.

Here it is:

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Configured Mouse"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "CorePointer"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
    Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
    Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

As previously mentioned , I am using a Dexxa/Labtec optical 2-button
wheel mouse on PS/2 port.
