Minor issues: Gaim ATI webcam camera scanner etc.

I have a few small things that I'm wondering if other people have...

Gaim:
VERY slow to restart after a saved session--if I don't click the
splashscreen off, it will sit there for about 2 minutes before gaim
finally loads up? I have deleted my /home/user/.gaim folder, to make sure
there wasn't anything weird in it--but I still have this problem (whereas
all my other programs start up real fast--like the music player and system
monitor). Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

ATI Radeon 9500pro:
Still really slow performance on glxgears (I followed the wiki faq).
Should fglrx show up in my loaded modules? It's not there...

Logitech Quickcam web:
Anyone else have one of these? Any luck getting it working in
gnomemeeting? What's the trick?

Sony DSC-U20 (digital camera):
It is auto detected, and then the camera program pops up, and says the
camera must be in ptp mode (if it were in ptp mode, it wouldn't auto
detect)--even if I do put it into ptp mode with the program running, it
won't work. My suggestion--take the Sony Cybershot U20 out of the list of
working cameras, so that it will just open as a USB mass storage device
(when I disable the camera auto-launcher, it just opens the camera
directly). **Should I make a bug report on this?**

Artec 48U USB scanner not detected:
Any advice on how to get it working? (I have read that it is Linux
compatible).

And of course bug 1943 :( **does the patch actually fix the problem? I
wasn't sure how to use it.**

Most of these (other than b1943) are VERY minor issues, but they are
troublesome nonetheless ;)

As I've said before, thanks to the people on the mailing list, and thanks
a LOT to the developers of Ubuntu! I hope hope hope that this project
succeeds!
