Even better than slackware!  :)

I, an official linux newbie and weenie, have been able to solve all my
problems so far (whether by googling or using this list for hints) what
few there have been (actually, nothing earth shattering).

It installed first try, everything ran right, I found out how to add
those very few apps that I use that WEREN'T included with the standard
installation...  and it runs very smoothly and is quite fast.

The two distros I've used with any regularity (when my BeOS machine
wasn't working - which is always now) were Fedora Core and Slackware.
But Ubuntu has all the power of Fedora (with less "junk" preinstalled)
and all the speed of Slack.  And easier to use and get help for.

Congrats you guys.  This is fun stuff.
