Reiser4 is not recommended for /boot partions.
Reiser4 isn't in the main kernel (2.6.8.1), however you can patch it.
Reiser4 is in the mm-branch.
If you want to create a r4 slice to work with, you will also need:
apt-get install reiser4progs, along with updating to mm-kernel or
patching your existing one.
