P4 HT - should I see two processors in system monitor as with Win XP ?

you need to install the SMP kernel in order to take advantage of the
hyperthreading, or multiple processors. ubuntu comes by default with smp
disabled.

run (I am assuming you run Intel processors)

apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.7-1-686-smp

Your grub entries will be modified accordingly, and this kernel will be
your default boot kernel.
