Openoffice - writing aids not comming up

I have:
openoffice.org 1.1.2-2ubuntu6
myspell-en-us 20030813-3

sources list is the main archive, not universe.

I also have aspell-en-us version 0.51-1-1 installed. That may be a difference?

Can I provide any other information?
