adding extra drivers on install

Hi all,

I am really desperate to have my Ubuntu work properly. It's the distro
I've always dreamed of and you guys are doing an excellent job... I am
one of the targeted newbies ! ;-)

I've installed it three times for different reasons on my laptop and did
some research here and there to find out what the problems are :

I need to install two drivers that aren't installed automatically on
first install. I was thinking of re-installing Ubuntu, and these drivers
via the expert mode :

- 3Com CardBus Ethernet adapters (must either be compiled with pci-scan
support ??) (3c59x.c)

- Cirrus Logical Crystal CS4281 audio controller (cs4281)

Is it possible ? If yes, advisable ? Otherwise, what steps do I need to
follows to have my ethernet connection and sound device work, please ?

Thanks a lot and keep on the good job !

Chris
