auto-configure multiple monitors

Hi,
I've no idea how difficult this would be to add, but wouldn't it be nice
if X (.org probably) could be automatically/interactively configured for
more than one monitor? I have an nvidia card that was correctly detected
and configured, but to enable it for TV-out I had to do it by hand. This
is not a problem if you've done it before, but for anyone new to
Linux... Well, I remember how much I struggled with this a few years
back.

Something for the release next year this time perhaps?
