sorry, i saw your mail to jeff just after i sent mine....i also saw your
mail about swap....

that updated systems get slow is a common problem if you uninstalled
ubuntu-desktop (i.e. because of installing totem-xine) gamin isnt
installed on update...

...there was a good bunch of ppl that had this prob, so i assumed this
was the case for you too and it didnt seem you recognized jeff.

i didnt want to bug you with that, please take my apology....
