bluetooth in ubuntu

As for the adapter, i can't really help you. so far i've had 3 different 
adapters (3com, some other and now broadcom) and all of them worked just 
fine. so look for an USB adapter and you should be all set.

As for the phone, your phone should work just fine with most of the apps 
out there (like multisync and gnome-phone-manager)
