Synaptic with Proxy

Don't know about synaptic, but adding

Acquire::http::Proxy "http://proxy:port"

to /etc/apt/apt.conf (you may have to create this file) will make
apt-get use the proxy for http requests (a similar line can be
added for ftp requests)

Perhaps this works as well for synaptic
